Gibson Guitar Learn & Master with Steve Krenz is a creation of Legacy Learning Systems. This is far and away my number one favorite play guitar course, ever, and if I had a six star rating I would give it to them. There old course was good but teaming up with Gibson Guitar has created a course that is even better. I had seen their piano course before and it was terrific so my expectation levels for their learn to play the guitar teaching course were very high. I can truly say they not only met my expectations with this guitar course but they exceeded them.

This course comes in two additions, the original edition which consists of 20 Lesson CD's, 5 Jam-Along CDs, Lesson Book, and unlimited access to Student Support Site and an expanded addition that has 20 lesson CD's and goes into more depth. Learn and Master is not the least expensive course on the Internet but I can say without reservation it is absolutely one of the best. Jamarama  by Ben Edwards is my second best rated guitar course. Although it is are not the superior quality of Learn & Master Guitar it is still really a great guitar courses Without a doubt it is the best of the low-cost software based guitar instructional courses.  There are no CDs or DVDs with the online version course so you will have to have your computer in front of you when using it. However, a physical copy of the course is available for substantially more money and you would probably be better served to purchase Learn and Master Guitar. The course itself is very extensive and the lessons are well thought out and simple to follow. The quantity and quality of the materials is superb.

With the Jamarama course you get two downloadable books, video files and audio files you can download to your computer. Jamarama does include a large number of video files and jam tracks so that you can learn lots of songs.  Many other courses do not include the large amount of material that Jamarama gives to you. Guitar Superstars by Andy Johnson is my third choice. This course offers lessons in a variety of styles. You learn Rock, Metal, Jazz, Classical, Funk and even Blues guitar.  This system is similar to Jamarama in that your materials are accessed via computer but you are able to choose what teacher you want to learn from. The course covers the full gamut of the guitar and is designed to get you playing quickly. Guitar Superstars can be an excellent option if you want an extensive guitar course but are a little cash sensitive.  You can choose your purchases over time and still get the entire guitar training course for an extremely low amount of money.

Let’s Sum Up: Learn & Master Guitar and Jamarama are better courses, in my opinion, than Guitar Superstars, but the course does offer the option of training with specialized teachers and is very well presented. It is extremely good if you want to learn a particular method of playing the guitar and don't want to spend a lot of cash.
